The Brandon Bear Broadcast (BBB) is up and running! Episode number four had so much news for the month of October, that it was exciting to broadcast the information on the website.
It is a lot! Whew! Buckle up! Enjoy! 

Please encourage your child to participate in Red Ribbon Week, and have conversations about the reason behind Red Ribbon Week.
We will also have our Book Character Parade on Friday, October 28th. Students will be able to change out of their costumes and put on their Panther/purple shirt.

Please note the new location. All testing for staff and students is free, but all must register.

It’s not too late!!! Try out for UIL! It is fun!

Auditions were had, and decisions were made for the cast of Brandon Elementary’s production of 101 Dalmations. Many students tried out for parts such as Cruella Deville and even the part of the cute little puppies! Brandon was proud of the effort that all of the students put in. Some students had never done anything like this before, and boy, it takes a lot of courage! Congratulations to all who tried out! 

We should expect the musical to open in February! Keep checking back for details!

This week we celebrate some Brandon VIPs!  

We celebrate Brandon VIPs! First of all we celebrate our custodians! We thank Ms. Gloria and her crew for taking care of our campus! We also celebrate Mrs. Sheila Skelton, our Instructional Coach. Mrs. Skelton specifically takes care of our teachers’ instructional needs. She is truly the campus “go to” person, and we are blessed to have her. 

No school October 10th for students and staff!

The Annual Dyslexia Art Showcase will be open at the Museum of East Texas all week, and the art auction is open until Saturday morning. Money raised will provide scholarships for dyslexic seniors at Lufkin High School!

CBA (Campus Based Assessment) tests will be taken 10/3-10/7. Please note that the campus will be closed to visitors during lunch.

It seems like a lifetime ago since Brandon Elementary was awarded a grant from the Lufkin Education Foundation to start a student news broadcast. Covid gave it a 2 year hiatus, but the Brandon Bear Broadcast (BBB) is back in lights, cameras and action! This was the first one for this crew, so we are just learning, but we are very proud to debut episode one! 

It will feel like you have won the lottery, but for Brandon! If you have not already done so, please download the Box Tops for Education App. Scan your grocery receipt and watch the magic happen! Boys and Moms (or substitute moms) are invited to get dressed up and make memories at the Ties and Tiaras dance. Save the date for the evening of September 30th!

Brandon Elementary is having an Open House on September 22nd. We will begin with a meeting at 5:30 pm. We are excited to welcome parents to see where learning takes place.

We celebrate ideas! Today the Lufkin Education Foundation’s Grant Patrol came to Brandon Elementary to award Donna Martin a check for $693, to make her idea come to fruition. We cannot wait for “Book Buddies: Creating Community Through Reading” to make an impact on our LISD students!

Mrs. Belcher, a teacher at Brandon Elementary, grew her hair out super long, and was able to donate the hair to a cancer patient, in need of a wig. She was able to have teachable moments in the classroom, as well as exemplify an act of kindness.

After hearing speeches, highlighting issues such as playground, cafeteria and bathrooms, the students have voted! Congratulations to Co-Presidents, Lila and Hayes and Vice President A’Kameryon! We know you have great plans for our campus!

Let’s all wear maroon for #UvaldeStrong, Tuesday September 6th. Wear a Football shirt Thursday September 8th.

Book Fair is coming! Students may begin looking at books in the virtual fair (click the Book Fair image) to get ideas of what they want, but students may begin buying when their Reading teacher brings them. Please see the schedule. It is recommended to set up an eWallet (click on the eWallet image) for your student, so that there is not any lost money. Grandparents’ Day is September 9th!!! A three day weekend! Teachers and students will both enjoy a day off from school on September 5th, but we will be refreshed and ready to go on September 6th!

The best way to support your child, is to stay aware. Skyward is ready for parents to access student grades.

Parents, we need your help please. Students must come to school in dress code. Please pay close attention to the section about tights as well as holes in pants. Students will not be allowed to attend class out of dress code. Thank you in advance for helping us with this and supporting us as we strive for consistency.

August 20th is the day to register for Lil Drill. Registration is at 8am and the performance is at 2:00! We grow our Lufkin Panther pride early! Students ages 4 years to 6th grade can join Lil’ Drill. The cost is $60, and lunch is provided.

Along the track at Brandon Elementary there are Brandon Bear names on Paw Prints! If you would like for your cub’s name to be painted on a paw, please refer to the information that was sent home.
