November 13, 2019 you are invited to have a Thanksgiving meal, during lunch, with your favorite Brandon Bear. RSVP by November 8th. Meal tickets are $5. Please bring the exact amount for the meal.
Wednesday, October 23rd, Brandon Elementary stood up in unity against bullying. Brandon Bears wore orange shirts as a reminder to “JUST BE KIND!” That was the message that the students, parents and staff chanted during the drone flyover on the front lawn.
KTRE did a news story on our Lunch Buddies mentoring program! Brandon Elementary is honored to have our community members volunteer for our students’ success. THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!
UPDATE: Unity Day, Wednesday- October 23rd! We will support as a campus by taking a campus picture outside Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Please encourage students and parents to wear orange shirts with jeans. All are welcome to attend!!

Please arrange transportation for 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 25th. Brandon students will be released from school at that time.
Big Kahuna Fundraiser FAQs: Make checks out to Brandon Elementary. Sale ends on 10/3. Products will be delivered on 11/5. The prizes for sales are big! Sell 50 items, and get a choice of a $50 Amazon Card. Sell 100 items for a choice of a $100 Amazon Card. 150 items sold gets a choice of a $250 Amazon Card! There are other cool prizes too! The limo party is absolutely awesome, and students can participate for selling only 15 items! We Rise. Aim High!
This is a dance for boys and their moms (or moms for the night). Not only will it be a fun time, but all proceeds will benefit Brandon Alumni who are graduating. There will be refreshments and photo opportunities, so get ready for a great time!
Mrs. Martin, Brandon Elementary Librarian, applied for a Lufkin Education Foundation grant to fund all things LEGO. Brandon was awarded this grant. Mrs. Martin is excited to offer fun and unique ways to retell, express and communicate information by using LEGO stop motion animation. Thank you LEF for this awesome opportunity!
Book Fair is rapidly approaching. If you would rather not send cash with your child, yet want them to experience the fun of selecting books, you may want to try the new eWallet account. Every student that uses eWallet or the Online Book Fair will receive a free bookmark!
Grandparents and Substitute Grandparents are invited September 6th to visit with students during lunch time. There will be a program, along with opportunities to visit the book fair and to have pictures taken. Please check the schedule to see when your special one will be available to spend time with you.
There will be “Snow” many books at the Arctic Adventure Book Fair. The physical fair will be open in the Brandon Library, September 9-13th. The Online Book Fair will be available. We will use eWallet this year, so that you don’t have to worry about sending cash or checks with the students. They only spend what you limit them to spend!
Lufkin ISD will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of Labor Day. There will be no school for students or teachers. Please have fun and be safe on your 3 day weekend!
Mrs. Martin, Brandon Elementary Librarian, made good on the challenge to be taped to a wall. Students donated extra change or dollars to see Mrs. Martin get taped, so she was taped. The students engineered it so that she literally hung on the wall. It was a fun time for all. This was a challenge to raise money to buy more books for the library, during Book Fair.
The students, faculty members and parents of Brandon Elementary have much to be proud of! This bear family worked hard and showed great strides over a one year period. Just check out this news clip from KTRE that talks about our accountability rating and distinctions for the 2018-2019 school year!
Attention GT parents and students!! You are invited to a meeting in the Brandon Elementary Cafeteria on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 5:30pm. We will break out into grade level sessions after the initial group meeting. We will share valuable information to help your student get the most out of the GT program this year. We look forward to seeing you then!
