Mrs. Roe put together some things for you to do to keep you going in Science. They are fun and a bit challenging! It may be just what your brain needs right now. There is one for each grade level, but feel free to try any of them that you would like.
If you have any questions, please message Mrs. Roe by commenting to her post on her webpage. She will be available between 11:30-1:30 each day to help you.

While our Spring Break is extended, until it is deemed safe to return to school, please keep students engaged in learning at home. There are many wonderful links and resources available on the Brandon Elementary PTK FaceBook page. This time may be confusing and maybe even scary for our students (and parents too). While we are taking serious measures to stay safe, please join us in spirit and stay connected. We are having a virtual spirit week! Feel free to post pictures, of how the week is going, on the Brandon Library Google Classroom, or #WeRiseAimHigh or #BrandonBears or #BrandonPrideNeverDies.
With all of the rain we have had, the field is not in a good condition for an enjoyable powder puff game. Brandon Bears are still looking forward to this epic event, and we will keep you posted, as a day looks possible!
Please read the attachment for complete information about Brandon’s Field Day March 4th at the Expo Center. Car riders should be taken directly to the Expo Center by 7:45am, and picked up from the Expo Center at the end of the school day. See more information for walkers and bus riders. There is also a menu attached for your convenience. It is going to be an exciting day for all!
We will have early release on Friday, March 6th. Please arrange early transportation to pick up your child at noon. Please be safe and rest up during our Spring Break, March 9-13. School will be back in session on March 16th.

Attention 5th grade parents! You will not want to miss this informative meeting on February 24th at 5:30pm, held at Lufkin Middle School, to orientate you with the transition to middle school.
Please join us for Literacy Night, February 25th 5:30pm-7:00pm. We will have community organizations join us from Kurth Memorial Library, ADAC, Texas Forestry Museum, Abundant Life, and Book Buddies. There will be free books and books to purchase from the Book Fair! Balloons, snacks and face painting will be available too. Geronimo Stilton will be walking around for photo ops, and literacy stations will be set up for even more fun! We are Wild About Reading at Brandon!
Thank you for supporting the Brandon Bears by selling World’s Finest Chocolate bars! It is now time to turn in the money collected for the fundraiser. The money must be turned in by Wednesday, February 19th, with no exceptions. Thank you.
Please join us for Brandon’s Black History Program on February 26th at 1:00pm. Our honored guest speaker will be Mr. Joe Deason, author of Legacy.
The students have a wonderful program planned, and you will have the opportunity to visit the book fair.
Spring Picture Day will be at Brandon on February 19th. Students may wear free dress along with their pretty smiles on that day. Parents may select a package ahead of time by going to mylifetouch.com.
Two 5th grade girls, Addyson C. and Taylor C., approached Mr. Keith about raising money to donate to an organization in Australia, to help the wildfire relief efforts. Fundraising has already started! These girls are motivated! They have come up with 3 different ways...
Girls, Bring the special guy in your life to the Sweetheart Dance. It can be a dad, grandpa, uncle, or whoever plays the daddy role in your life! The dance is Thursday, February 13th from 6:00pm-7:30pm. All proceeds from tickets and pictures will benefit Lufkin High School seniors who are Brandon Bear alumni.
The World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser will begin at Brandon, Tuesday Feb 4th through Feb 19th. Consider buying your Valentine some chocolate, (or a lot of chocolate)!
There will be fun prizes . . . like spraying Mr. Keith with Silly String! All money must be turned in by February 19th to qualify for prizes!
This is a reminder that early bird pricing of $15 ends this Friday 1/31 . After Friday, price will increase to $20.

Monday, January 20th, LISD will take the time off to observe the birthday of Dr. Martin Martin Luther King, Jr. You are invited to this special program at Dunbar Primary, 1:00 pm to celebrate.

Make sure to visit the Ellen Trout Zoo to see what our students created for our furry friends. The zoo animals are a joy to watch as they explore the toys created by the students.
Brandon Elementary held this year’s Spelling Bee with 16 participants. After nine rounds the team was chosen. Congratulations to Ms. White for her work organizing the Spelling Bee. Aanvi, Daniel, Sally, Joshua and Katelyn will be representing Brandon Elementary in the district level Spelling Bee. Brandon Pride, Never Dies! We rise. Aim High!
We will have early dismissal on Thursday, December 19th at 12:00 Noon. Brandon Elementary wishes for all students, a joyful holiday, and a safe return on January 7th.
