Autism Awareness Day

According to autismspeaks.org the thirteenth annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2020.

Joined by the international community, hundreds of thousands of landmarks, buildings, homes and communities around the world come together on April 2, Autism Awareness Day, to Light It Up Blue in recognition of people with autism and those who love and support them. Remember “Awareness and acceptance is to be open, to be compassionate, and most importantly, to be kind.” Ask Mrs. Ellis where that quote came from. . .

Help us spread kindness and autism awareness! Students may post a video on the Brandon Library FlipGrid or add a picture on the Brandon Library Google Classroom to show ways that they have demonstrated kindness during the COVID-19 Stay-at-Home order. Show how you #ChooseKind.
(Examples are students making masks and writing letters to those who may be extra lonely during quarantine, or simply just make a poster to shout out a nice message, to make someone feel good.)

The faculty of Brandon Elementary want to show support for autism, but more importantly kindness in general. Please view the messages from the Mama and Papa Bears of Brandon.
We really miss our Brandon Bear Cubs!
