Mrs. Martin, librarian, asked the students at Brandon Elementary if they thought it would show “Lufkin Cares” by sponsoring a Houston area school affected by Hurricane Harvey. Of course they have huge hearts, and were all for it! One student said, “We are Lufkin!”
Students and Staff donated $168 during the most recent Book Fair.
Brandon also had a little fun with the donation challenge. There were donation bags for each Reading teacher and Mr. Boyd. The object was to have the most money in their bag. The “winner” will spend time Reading Jail, located in the library. Mrs. Dorman, who had a total of $27. 71 will get to go to Reading Jail. Mr. Boyd will also be “Wanted” as he came in second place at $21.80.
Mrs. Martin is accepting new and gently used books to send over to McAdams Junior High School in Dickinson, Texas.
