COURSE GOALS

All accounting courses at LHS provide an intensive study of a variety of business related topics such as:  entrepreneurship, financial responsibility, management, starting a sole proprietorship, a partnership, and setting up a corporation.  Students will be exploring the world of business and the accounting practices associated with recording transactions, posting to the general ledger, preparing and analyzing financial reports.

Professionalism includes the following  areas:  Being  Prompt, Being Prepared, Being Polite, Being Productive, Being Patient, and Being Responsible.

ABSENCES AND MAKE-UP WORK–School-wide policy

All make-up work must be completed within the 3-week grading period or before the chapter test, whichever occurs first.  A  0  will be entered into the gradebook until the assignment has been completed.

GRADING POLICY

60%  TESTS,  MAJOR PAPERS     40% DAILY ASSIGNMENTS

REQUEST TO REASSESS FOR UP TO a 70

To be eligible to reassess, students must complete a Request to Reassess for up to a 70 form.

CELL PHONES

For 2017-2018 cell phones are not permitted in the accounting classroom. Cell phones must be packed away and not out on the desk or visible to others.

TARDY TO CLASS

Students who are tardy to class will be assigned an am or pm detention.  AM/PM detention will be served from 7:30 am-8 am or 3:50 pm-4:20 pm (Room-C110)  AM/PM Detention must be served the next day of school in which the tardy was assigned.
