Burley Primary is committed to the safety of all students. To enhance and improve safety regulations, we are asking for your cooperation with the following protocols:
- Our school doors will open each morning at 7:15 a.m. We ask parents to please not drop off their children before 7:15 a.m. Instruction begins at 7:45 a.m. every day. If your child would like a free breakfast, be sure that they arrive in time to eat before class begins at 7:45 a.m.
- We ask that all parents/guardians present photo identification upon each visit to our campus. Parents will receive visitors tags after presenting identification.
- Parents/guardians are welcome to sit with their child in the cafeteria during breakfast and lunch after receiving a visitor’s tag.
- Parents/Guardians will be welcome to escort students to the classroom for the first 2 days of school and are encouraged to attend special events and/or conferences.
- Please refrain from driving behind the school during school hours. For the safety of our students, please drop off or pick up students at the front of the school, not at the bus lane.
- If your 2nd grader has a sibling in another grade, please notify his/her teacher at Meet the Teacher on August 14th. The younger sibling will be dismissed with your 2nd grader.
- If you plan on changing your child’s form of transportation, please send a written note to your child’s teacher. There will be NO transportation changes after 2:15 p.m. in order to ensure your child is dismissed properly.
- When picking up students at the end of the day, our mission is for everything to be safe and smooth. Parents/Guardians must remain in their vehicles for pick up. Please avoid checking out students early, unless for doctor’s appointments or emergencies. Early check-outs will affect attendance. Instructional time is critical for your child’s education.
- Car tags will be given to you at Meet the Teacher or at the front office. These car tags must be visible in order to pick up your child at the end of the school day for your child to be dismissed.
