Welcome to Slack Elementary!
Our mission in Lufkin ISD is to educate and equip all students for success through exceptional learning experiences. As such, Slack Elementary is committed to serving the students and parents of our community.
Our campus truly reflects the wide variety of options available in Lufkin ISD. We are proud of our school and the four outstanding programs represented at Slack. Our Dual Language Magnet Program serves students in grades 2-5 with the aim of providing bilingual capabilities in both English and Spanish. Our Academic Program provides a rigorous, engaging course of study for neighborhood students across grades 3-5. The Transitional Program focuses on supporting students in grades 3-5 with limited English language skills as they transition from the Spanish language into the English language. Our Deaf Education Program accommodates the curriculum to meet the needs of students with auditory impairments in grades 3 -5. Though we have four programs represented at Slack Elementary, we are one unified campus dedicated to meeting the needs of every child.
As we enter into another school year, we look forward to the exciting challenges and growth opportunities for our students, parents, and staff members.
