The LMS Outdoor Club recently embarked on a refreshing journey along the scenic Lanana Creek Hiking Trails. This excursion provided our students with a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Two Lufkin Middle School students involved in R2 GEAR UP participated in the MAD-learn Virtual Student Showcase on Dec. 7. Tabitha Bourlon, 7th grader, and Jalexy Arellano, 8th grader, developed a mobile app over the summer in the MAD-learn/ Mobile App Development Camp. The MAD-learn Student Showcase event highlights students across the country presenting the apps they created using MAD-learn’s design thinking program.

We are pleased to announce that Lufkin ISD has enrolled with STOPit, by
STOPit Solutions, provided through a grant with Region 12.
STOPit is an online reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate
bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors. You and your
student have the power to help put an end to harmful and inappropriate
behavior you see through social media and other means. Your student can
use STOPit to reach out for help if they or a peer are facing a personal
crisis or experiencing bullying, abuse, or are otherwise in need of

Dress for Success LMS took a field trip to Logan’s Roadhouse where they learned about the workforce as it pertains to the customer service industry. Students learned about serving, cleaning, and food prep with the emphasis of a special bread-making class. Click here to watch the video.
