Fourth Grade students in the classes of Ms. Marshall, Mrs. Hackney, Mrs. Draper, and Mrs. White learned about the importance of doing their civic duties and using their voices to vote in elections during a mock election on Tuesday, November 5. Students heard from each “candidate” -Oreo cookie or chocolate chip cookie- on important issues and were given the opportunity to vote. Students had fun while seeking to understand platforms (such as shorter school days, no homework, etc.) and exercising their right to vote. What a great teachable moment for these students!
