Miss Nelson is Missing

Oh no!  Miss Nelson is Missing!  Our class will learn how to recognize and name the title, author, and illustrator of a book.  We will also discover the problem and solution of a story as well as the story structure beginning, middle and end.  We also used a venn diagram to compare and contrast Miss Nelson and Miss Swamp.

October Fun

This week, using the story “Room on a Broom”by Julia Donaldson, my sensational second graders learned about nouns, sequencing and author’s purpose.  We made brooms using our hand prints to list the nouns we read in the story.  We ended the week with a snack that contained items that reminded us of the witch.  We will enjoy our snack while watching the movie. Afterward, we will compare and contrast using the book vs. the movie.
