Get ready for hands-on learning and scientific fun! The 2025 STEM Summer Camp is open to all incoming 9th graders and will be held at Lufkin High School.
🗓 Dates: June 30 – July 3
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Location: Lufkin High School

Camp Activities Include:
💨 STEM & Engineering Design – Build and test wind turbines
🧪 Chemistry in Action – Foam gnomes, hand warmers, and ice cream
💡 Electric Circuits – Light-up sculptures with conductive dough
🫀 Biomedical Engineering – Artery repairs and bone fixes

Our 7th grade STEM students had an incredible experience on their field trip to Texas A&M Galveston!
From a hands-on shark dissection to exploring oyster reef ecology and getting a glimpse of campus life, this college exposure trip offered unforgettable learning opportunities. After a fun day of learning, they enjoyed some time in the Galveston Historic District on The Strand and wrapped up the trip with dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf.
Huge thanks to Texas A&M Galveston for hosting us and inspiring our students to dive deeper into science and higher education!

On January 22, 2025, our 8th Grade STEM students showcased their innovation and scientific skills at the LMS Science Fair! We are proud to announce that the Top 10 winners will advance to the Region 7 Science Fair, proudly representing Lufkin Middle School!

On Friday, January 24, Lufkin Middle School 8th graders had the exciting opportunity to learn about the GeoFORCE Texas Summer Academy, a once-in-a-lifetime experience available to Reset & Reimagine (R2) GEAR UP students.

This incredible program takes students on a weeklong adventure each summer, beginning before their freshman year of high school, to explore geological wonders across the United States. Through hands-on experiences, students gain a deeper understanding of science in ways that go beyond the classroom.

The application process encourages students to think about their future, set goals, and take the first steps toward achieving their dreams. We can’t wait to see how many of our Class of 2029 students are accepted into this prestigious program!

Join us December 3-18, 2024, as we encourage students to show up, stay engaged, and make every day count! Consistent attendance leads to success, and we’re here to celebrate students who rise to the challenge.
