This past weekend the Lufkin High School Chapter of Business Professionals of America participated in the State Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. 24 LHS students participated in the event alongside over 4000 other students from around the state.

Our State Medalists include:

Landon Smith: 9th place in Economic Research Individual Presentation (National Alternate)

D’Marion Hobson, Dayne Carrizales, Maddie Minter, and Erik Rodriguez: placed 6th in Administrative Support Team (National Alternates)

Patrick Milholland: 6th place in Advanced Accounting, National Qualifier earning him a place at the National competition.

Melissa Hernandez: Competed in the Virtual Promotional Photography Event. She has placed in the top 10 in the nation and has earned a spot as a National Qualifier representing Lufkin BPA.

Also, our very own LHS teacher, Mr. Ryan Schuldt, was awarded “Advisor of the Year” at the State Convention for his role as the Texas Virtual BPA Chapter Advisor.

Congratulations to these students and Mr. Schuldt. Good luck to Patrick and Melissa as they head to the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida this May.
