Who can resist reading around a campfire, especially an indoor campfire! Herty Primary students got to enjoy S’mores snacks while listening to community members, board members, and Lufkin ISD staff read books. The students sat around tents with mock campfires to resemble a campout. They were in awe as they listened to stories read by flashlight. The idea came from Ashley Self, the campus dyslexia specialist, who has even more ideas in store for future fun with reading.
