Our 2nd graders traveled around the world learning about various Christmas customs. Mrs. Huval took the students to China and made paper chains, then sailed across the ocean to Mrs. Meyers classroom to discuss American traditions and decorate cookies while singing Christmas carols. Next the students flew to Israel In Miss Bennett’s room to make driedles and eat yummy jelly filled-pastries. The next stop of this learning journey was Italy with Mrs. Neal. Students learned of LaBefana (the Christmas witch) and sampled biscotti. The 2nd graders rounded out their tour with a stop in Miss Dunn’s room to enjoy a Mexican treat of sopapilla’s and pinata building. Each student experienced a different culture and learned about that countries cuisine and customs. Passports were stamped along way and a great time was had by all!!
