The Book Fair was a success, thanks to parents, grandparents, students and faculty! We always like seeing books in the hands of students, but we always have a side challenge, to raise money to buy books for the classrooms. This challenge was Silly String the Principal! We had a box for each of the three principals, Mrs. Liles, Mrs. McClendon, and Mrs. Walker. The box that had the most
money in it was “THE WINNER.”
It was a close one. Mrs. Walker brought in $62.95, Mrs. Liles had $91.77 in her box (Someone actually donated $20 to her box!), and Mrs. McClendon was the “winner” with $95.65. That came to a grand total of $250.37. That helped us in our book fair sales as well, because that money was used to buy classroom books from teacher wish lists! Win-Win!
Teachers were asked to choose 2 students from their class to come up and help the other two principals spray Mrs. McClendon with Silly String. Mrs. McClendon did not want to do it alone, so she invited, Bob Ross (Coach Kay) to join her. Everyone had a blast! Thank you, Mrs. McClendon for being such a great sport and doing what it takes for reading!
