Today, August 30th, the halls of Brandon Elementary were filled with the Panther marching band and cheerleaders, followed by an entourage of cameras, reporters, and wonderful gift givers. Every campus looks forward to seeing this, and becomes very excited! That means somebody won an Education Foundation Grant. Today, THREE grants were awarded at Brandon Elementary by the Lufkin Education Foundation.
Mrs. Jo Martin, Mrs. Friesen, Mrs. Winters and Ms. Vann were awarded the “Lights, Camera, Action!” Grant, which will allow Brandon elementary students to use media to learn communication and writing skills. The equipment they will receive include a green screen, lights, cameras, microphones, and devices to record.
Mrs. Roe, in the science lab, won a grant titled, “My Toothbrush is Alive.” Her students will be able to create bristle bots, by using problem solving skills, while learning about motors and troubleshooting.
Mrs. Winters received the “Ozobot Evo in the math classroom.” Students will
be using coding skills to manipulate Ozobots, and apply this to other skills taught in the math classroom.
The huge THANK YOU to the Lukfin ISD Education Foundation!
