The Spring Semester is a busy one for the LMS Band Program! Here is a list of dates/events that are coming up this semester that will help you and your band student stay up to date! Please take note that information about these dates/times will be handed out during class and/or sent out using the Remind app. All dates and times are subject to change.
February
26th- LMS Majorette tryout practice, LMS Band Hall- 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm (practices will continue every Monday until May, unless changed by Mr. Smith or Ms. Montes when needed)
26th- UIL Concert and Sight reading after school sectionals begin, LMS Band Hall- 4:00-5:00(schedule for sectionals to be handed out in class)
March
12th-16th- Spring Break
26th- Majorette/Drum Major Parent Meeting, LMS Band Hall- 5:30 pm
29th- LMS Band Pre UIL Concert, LMS Auditorium- 7:00 pm (7th & 8th grade band students only.)
April
25th- UIL Band Concert and Sight Reading Contest, Lufkin HS auditorium- time TBA (7th grade band students only)
26th- UIL Band Concert and Sight Reading Contest, Lufkin HS auditorium- time TBA (8th grade band student only)
May
4th- LMS Majorette and Drum Major Tryouts, LMS Band Hall- 4:00 pm
7th- LMS Majorette/Drum Major Parent Meeting, LMS Band Hall 4:00 pm
10th- LMS Band Spring Concert, LMS Auditorium, 7:00 pm (6th, 7th and 8th grade bands will perform, admission is free)
12th- 7th & 8th Grade Band- End of the Year trip- details TBA
19th- 6th Grade Band- End of the Year trip- details TBA
25th- Last Day of School
