The Southwest team that rolled through the Little League World Series, capturing the U.S. championship on Saturday, featured nine Lufkin Middle School students.
A community pep rally to honor the squad is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, in the George H. Henderson Jr. Exposition Center on Lufkin’s north loop.
