Jesus Gomez
Lufkin Middle School Principal

Welcome to Lufkin Middle School — and welcome to our Lufkin Middle School Family. We are proud of the excellent achievement of our students, our talented and caring staff, and the outstanding support of our parents, community partners, and our Parent, Teacher, Student Organization. We work hard to create a student-centered culture for our students.

Our goal at Lufkin Middle School is to educate and equip our students for success through exceptional learning experiences. We pride ourselves in offering our students strong academic programs as well as a wide variety of electives and extracurricular activities.  We want our students to explore and investigate their interests in order to allow them make sound decisions on the course pathway they wish to pursue at Lufkin High School.

We are fortunate to have a very supportive Superintendent and School Board who allow us to have a “3 schools in 1 model.”  We have three different grade levels, each having its own assistant principal, counselor, teams of teachers and class schedule. Each grade level is exclusive to one another and has its own daily schedule. Our students are divided in small learning communities of about 90 students that rotate between four core teachers. Our schedule allows you to set up team meetings with all four core teachers at one time on Mondays and Fridays during the teachers’ conference times.

Together, we can help your student succeed at Lufkin Middle School. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Educationally Yours,

Jesus G. Gomez Sr.
