Two Lufkin High School juniors will be heading to Abilene on Friday to compete at the state level in powerlifting. Jacoriance White said he’s excited about lifting at this level.
“I like the competition. I just go out there and compete,” said Jacoriance. “I got this.”
Jacoriance is hoping he can make a personal record and push a little more than what he did at regional competition. His regional stats were: Bench 305 lbs., squat 360 lbs. and dead lift 415 lbs.
Jordan Nichols also wants to break his record and push himself to be better.
“I like the competition,” he said. “It’s fun. 90% of this sport is mental.”
Jordan’s stats at regionals were: Bench 420 lbs., squat 640 lbs. and dead lift 585 lbs.
Both students play football and Jacoriance enjoys doing welding on the side. Good luck!
