Weekend math homework assigned on Friday, January 19th is due on Monday, January 22nd for a grade!  This is review over chapter 5 on percent in preparation for the upcoming major exam on Wednesday, January 24th.

Strrrrrrrrrike!!!  Students who qualified for the Conduct Reward will be going bowling at Lufkin Lanes next week!  The cost is $3 and is due on Wednesday, January 24th to 1st period teachers.  Our Team C is assigned to bowl on Thursday, January 25th from 1 to 3pm.  Concessions will be available for students to purchase.

Congratulations on making it through the 1st 9-weeks of 6th grade!  We are really in the swing of things now.  We have completed Ch. 2 on multiplying & dividing with decimals and fractions, and we’re about to conclude Ch. 3 on calculating with integers.  Our 1st major exam of the new 9-weeks is Monday, October 30th.  It will cover mostly topics from Chapters 2-3 but will include some review from the beginning of the year – exponents, order of operations & Ch. 1.

Other topics being covered this 9-weeks will also include rates, ratios, proportion, measurement & percents.  We will start Ch. 4 next week (major exam on Nov. 29) & will continue on to Ch. 5  in December.

**Our CBA for this 9-weeks is RESCHEDULED for December 4-5.

The end of the 1st 9-weeks is coming to an end soon so it is time for our first CBA (Content-Based Assessment).  It is scheduled for Wednesday & Thursday, October 4-5th.  It will cover all concepts taught since day one.  Please be looking over all your materials to study – notes & papers in your folder, journal and SWB (student workbook).
